HCA GIFT AGREEMENT

In July of 2021 a gift agreement was reached between Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA) Management Serivices and the FAMU Foundation and the School of Allied Health Sciences (SOAHS). With this donation, HCA agreed to donate $1.5 million dollars to the Healthcare Management program within SOAHS. These funds were to be used for the Naming of the SOAHS Simulation Lab and the establishment of HCA Internship Stipends and the HCA Scholarship program. Below is a list of the recipients of the HCA scholarship:

  • Justice Richardson, a Fall 2021 MHA recipient, interned with HCA as a Medical Staff Services Intern. Following graduation, she entered into a Manager In Training program with Parallon (part of HCA Healthcare). Following her MIT program she moved to the position of Patient Access Manager. Justice has also return to the university to speak to the students during "HCA on the Hill Day," to give her insight on and knowledge of a career with HCA. 
  • Devin Crowther, a Fall 2022 MHA recipient, interned with HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Patient Safety and Quality. Post-graduation, Devin serves as a Cath Lab/IR Materials Manager with HealthTrust Performance Group, the supply chain engine that supports HCA Healthcare's network. 
  • Brynae Kinsey, a Spring 2023 MHA recipient, interned with HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Operations. After graduating, Brynae entered a Manager In Training program with Parallon who provides full-service revenue cycle management and total patient account resolution for HCA Healthcare.
  • Brooke Hawkins, a Spring 2022 undergraduate HCM (healthcare management) recipient, was able to secure a Division Executive Assistant position within the office of the Chief Medical Officer for HCA Healthcare North Florida Division prior to receiving her undergraduate degree. From there she moved on to the position of Medical Office Specialist. Brooke is also an MHA candidate who has an interest in Hospital Operations.
